People often think I am crazy when I tell them Telluride Jazz is one of my favorite festivals. It is relaxing, not crowded and the music is always fun. I am not your typical Jazz person-but neither is the Telluride Jazz Celebration. There is always an eclectic line up with a little bit of everything for everyone. I of course wanted to see Rita Coolidge-primarily because of childhood memories- I remember that my mother LOVED listening to Rita and Linda Ronstadt. Oops, I think I just gave up my age? I of course discovered Michael Kaeshammer-wow, an amazing pianist and performer. I think everyone was completely intrigued- go have a listen. You will love him! March 4! Wow, Wow Wow. Fire-eating, dancing, walking on stilts, jazz musicians, everywhere it was such a highlight for the kids! The weather was divine, we listened to music, played games in the grass and just listened to great music-truly a wonderful weekend. Come on out next year, bring the family, get your Jazz on-you will not regret it!
