Summertime – it’s half over. Someone told me today that school supply lists are at Target already. I panicked.
Because I feel like I haven’t even started summer yet. Here is the crazy part: we have not hiked, kayaked, or reservoir’d yet. We haven’t gone to a single Ouray or Telluride concert. We have attended exactly zero farmers markets in all of our community towns. We camped only once in April. We have only been to one main in motion. Why?
I blame him:
Actually, I’m kidding. He’s only been in the picture for a little over a week, but he does complicate matters. It’s like having a third child, except this one chews brand new Teva flipflops and Banana Republic Tshirts. Despite all that (no, I am really not holding a grudge), I’m in love. He is a love. But he is a baby and a busy boy.
The real reasons involve work, company, work, company, work, and work. Did I say work?
And so, please forgive me if the posting schedule has been sporadic as of late. It may be that way for a bit longer, because now that I’ve realized that my summer is half over and I’ve barely started it, I’ve decided to focus on three things: 1. teaching this puppy some manners before he is bigger than my 6 year old and tries to eat her and 2. my kiddos and 3. recreating. Not in that order.
As always, I’d love to hear from you. What are you doing this summer? What cool things have you discovered in our region? If you know of great things going on in our communities, please share it with SJP readers! You can post fun things on the facebook page. Or, if you did something family related that you’d like to guest post about, we’d love that too! To submit to SJP, simply send a quick write-up and a picture, size 600×400, to info@sanjuanparent.com.
Thanks for your patience and cross your fingers for us that we pass puppy obedience class.
