Look no further! Cedar Creek Mini Golf Course is a fun 18-hole golf course located close to everything in Montrose. The staff is polite, friendly and helpful. They provide golf clubs of all different sizes and colors, colorful golf balls so you can tell yours from your opponents, and score cards for those competitive enough to keep score. They have a great pavilion they rent out for reserved parties that has tables, chairs, a BBQ Grill and it is next to a playground set for younger children to slide and play on. They are open from 10 AM until 8 PM.
My husband and I went on a warm spring day with our kids and a nephew, kids ranging in age from 15 – 1 ½ years old. There are large trees to shade a good majority of the course. The sodas, Gatorade and Ice Cream bars for sale in the office were a welcome way to cool down after our game when we sat at their tables that have beautiful rainbow umbrellas over them. We had such a great time my husband and I vowed to come back one evening after dinner for a more competitive playful game just between us.
The course includes a working windmill, a lit up saloon, large totem pole, bridges, and fun moving obstacles. Each hole has a well marked sign of what the par is and a place to set your score cards. It is well maintained and frequently the staff is out painting, making small repairs or hanging more strings of lights for night play on the course. There are a lot of different flowers that bloom during the summer to add to the beauty. Last year when my mom took the kids on a hot day they asked the owners to leave the sprinklers on so they would randomly get sprayed to cool off. It is one of my kids’ favorite memories. They can’t wait to go back this summer to re-live it!
The cost to play the course is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 10 years of age. It took us about an hour to play the course with five people playing. If you would like to reserve their pavilion for your party you need to call ahead 970-249-3884. If you want to play a round of mini golf no reservations are required. This mini golf course is one of the lesser known, under used resources for families in our region. Check it out and let me know what you think!
